Joe: Everyone get in except for me and the when I do get in, they don’t belive that it’s me.

Phoenix: The Internet is very strong tool. Um, it’s a, it’s something that allows you to really get your music out whithout, you know, literally not spending anything

Rob: As the band started, it was something that was there from the very begining. Um, we were very involved in going on the Internet and going in chat rooms and talking to, like, other music lovers of-of bands that were similar to ours and we would just, you know try and get them to come over our MP3 site, check out our music and then we had, like, an open dialogue with a lot of people.

Mike: Look how fat my head is. It’s even fatter than normal. It’s too big.

Rob: When we got signed and had a budget to go on the road we were, like, immediatelly meeting this people that we had talked to on the Internet.

Today, you know, we’re playing to a bigger audience where it’s a little bit more difficult to just go out and hang out but we still definitely make it a point to-to sign after the shows or do, like, some kind of signing booth.

Joe: Mindenki itt van rajtam k�v�l, �s amikor �n is bel�pek, nem hiszik el, hogy ez �n vagyok.

Phoenix: Az internet egy nagyon l�nyeges eszk�z. Ez az, ami lehet�ve teszi, hogy sz� szerint mindenf�le k�lts�g n�lk�l terjeszd a zen�d.

Rob: Ahogy a banda �ssze�llt, az internet mindig seg�tette a dolgunk. Teljesen belebonyol�dtunk az internetbe, j�rtuk a chat-szob�kat �s besz�lgett�nk m�s zenekedvel�kkel a band�kr�l, akik hasonl�ak voltak hozz�nk. Megpr�b�ltuk a saj�t MP3 oldalunkra invit�lni �ket, megmutatni a zen�nk majd nyitott t�rsalg�sokat folytattunk sok emberrel.

Mike: N�zd milyen k�v�r, nagy a fejem. Ez sokkal nagyobb a norm�lisn�l. Ez t�l nagy!

Rob: Mikor leszerz�dt�nk �s elkezdhett�nk turn�zni, r�gt�n tal�lkoztunk azokkal az emberekkel, akikkel az Interneten chatelt�nk.

Ma nagyobb k�z�ns�gnek j�tszunk, ahol egy kiss� nehezebb odamenni hozz�juk, vagy ell�gni el�l�k de mi val�j�ban az al��r�st a koncert ut�n vagy egy dedik�l� s�tor fel�ll�t�s�t a fell�p�s r�sz�nek tekintj�k.

Brad: Yeah.

- Uh, I don’t.

Brad: Do you have any change?

- Brad, how we doing on tips?

Brad: I’ve got about 90 cents.

We got our tip jar out today. We’re collecting money, bracelets, jewelry, um, earwax, lint, you know, anything anyone wants to contribute and at the end of this little thing, we’re going to give it to the last persone in line, so, uh…

Brad: We’ll sign anything you want.

Phoenix: That’s a deuce, oh. That’s a ventie.

- Whoo!

Phoenix: It’s getting fatter. The kitty is ketting fatter.

Claudia, what you’ve received is, at the end of the day, the guys from LP take all off their tips during their signing and they actually give it to, like their favorite LP’s kid out there.

- Uh-uh.

- But with this money you’ve got to go over to the merchandise booth and go by a T-shirt.

Chester: -- All right, I got bit in the ass by a mean spider who had poison… while I was slpeeping one night in the bunk.

�-- And I wake up the next day with this big, bruising, sweltering spider bite on my ass. All right?

�-- All it looks like now is a bruise because all the poison seeped into my system and is trying to kill me.

�-- I didn’t think much of it. I let it go.

�-- The poison sooked into my body and, um, infected all of my lymph nodes.

�-- Next thing you know there’s more little sweltering things on my ass, right?

- Don’t get sick a lot, Chester?

Chaz: I get sick a lot, but … this time, I really didn’t get sick. I was poisoned.

Chaz: Sokszor vagyok beteg, de… most val�j�ban nem vagyok beteg. Megfert�z�dtem.

Mike: There’s a lot of different genres of music in L.A. and, uh, growing up there you kind of get a feel for a lot of different things.

Chaz: The original name, Hybrid Theory was an idea to define the kind of music that we were doing, so that, um, at first glance, people who were, you know, maybe thinking about listening to it would hopefully have an understanding of what they’re about to hear.

Joe: I didn’t really see it as a rock band. I saw it as, like, a new type a fusion.

Brad: From the beginning our goal was to bring together different genres of music –electronica, hip-hop, alternativ rock –and make it into one sound that’s indistinguishable.

Chaz: Unfortunatelly, we had to change the name, which really stinks because, like, coming up with a name for a band is probably harder than writing a song.

Linkin Park just happened to be one of those things.

- Linkin Fark. Uh, I mean, uh „Lick my Park”. No, wait, „Linkin Park”, right? Oh, okay.

Chaz: I really doesn’t have any meaning and it’s not really significant to anything and I think that’s kind of what I like about it because it allows the music to define the name rather than the name to define the music.

Phoenix: Mike always says „Oh, we would never want to listen a song and then have it be like, ’Okay, here’s your hip-hop verse, here’s your hard rock chorus, and here’s, like, the bridge, that has and electronic feel to it.’ But instead, have you just listen to it and say ’I know that sound – that’s Linkin Park’”.

Mike: Sokf�le, k�l�nb�z� zenei m�faj k�pviselteti mag�t L.A.-ban �s �gy n�sz ott fel, hogy nagyon sok k�l�nb�z� �rz�s hat r�d.

Chaz: Az eredeti n�v, Hybrid Theory egy �tlet volt ahhoz, hogy kifejezz�k milyen zen�t j�tszunk. Els� hall�sra az emberek tal�n elgondolkodnak arr�l, hogy mit hallgatnak �s rem�lhet�leg meg�rtik hogy mir�l is hallanak.

Joe: Igaz�b�l soha nem v�ltem ezt egy rock band�nak. �gy l�ttam ez az �sszeolvad�s egy �j p�ld�ja.

Brad: A kezdetekt�l az volt a c�lunk hogy k�l�nb�z� zenei st�lusokat – elektronikus, zene, hip-hop, alternat�v rock – egy hangz�sba dolgozzunk, amiben az elemek megk�l�nb�ztethetetlenek.

Chaz: Sajnos meg kellett v�ltoztatni a nevet, ami nagyon rossz dolog, mert kital�lni egy �j bandanevet az val�sz�n�leg nehezebb, mint dalt �rni.

A Linkin Park n�v t�rt�netesen csak emiatt lett.

- Linkin Fark. Uh, szerintem, ’Lick my Park’? Nem, v�rj, ’Linkin Park’, j� �gy? Renden.

Chaz: Val�j�ban ezzel a n�vvel nincs semmi c�lom, ez val�j�ban nem fejez ki semmit, �s azt hiszem �pp ez benne a j�. Ez a n�v lehet�v� teszi, hogy a zene jelentse a nevet �s ne a n�v jelentse a zen�t.

Dave: Mike mindig az mondja: „Oh, mi soha nem akarunk meghallgatni egy sz�mot �s ut�na �gy tenni: ’Rendben, itt a te hip-hop rapped, itt a te rock k�rus-r�szed, �s itt a h�d, egy electronikus �rz�s hozz�.’ Helyette csak hallgasd meg �s mond ’Ismerem ezt– ez a Linkin Park.’”
